3 Handy Tips Before You Go Mountain Biking At Lake Tahoe


Mountain biking at Lake Tahoe can be a great weekend activity. With several bike trails, single tracks, and bicycle parks all around the lake, some of these trails can be a bit tricky. These mountain trails are full of serene landscapers, smooth rides and a lot of steep, rough inclines. So keep these following tips handy to avoid any terrible accidents that you may encounter. 


1.       Don't take your bicycle where it shouldn't be. Stick to open terrains and existing trails don't trespass on private property. In case you're uncertain about some area, the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) proposes that you consult a land manager for better understanding. Make a point to have every necessary permit beforehand.

2.        Remember that riding in Tahoe resembles riding in a huge bowl. One can get confused
      slowly getting elevated to get those beautiful vistas or navigating across counties. So remember that gravity will always draw you down the slope and in the end, cross the street again to get back to where you were supposed to go.

3.     Always remain on your right side, except if you are turning left, passing another bike or vehicle, or maintaining a strategic distance from dangers. Ride graciously and, if riding with a group, ride single file. Comply with all traffic laws. Stop at stop signs and lights, and use hand signs to convey your proposed course. Walk your bicycle when utilizing a crosswalk.
